Though at that point I almost think I'd prefer go with DeCastro, Reif or Martin. I'd want to make damn sure I protect Manning.
Then I'd still look to Miler or Polk in the 2nd. Think about it - at that point you're not going to go gung-ho with the running game, so why use a 1st on a 1b RB? I'd rather go after another homerun hitter or at least use a lesser asset on my #2 runningback.
Though ultimately I can definitely see the argument for going Richardson with #1 and Adams with #2, I just don't think that Adams is a sure bet to fall to the 2nd, nor do I think he's as likely to succeed as Martin or Riley.

The best way to protect Manning is to have an a running game that takes the pressure off of Manning.
We obviously need to improve the quality and depth of the O-Line, but if you don't put all the pressure of the offense on Manning, make the defense respect your ground attack and keep him out of 2nd and 3rd and long situations, you keep defenses from teeing off.
