I just can't imagine ANY kind of scenario where Orton would want to sign with the Chiefs if Cassel is on the roster. Unless the Chiefs are willing to overpay him to a long, guaranteed contract, which means that: 1) we're committing a shitload of money to two QBs who probably aren't the answer; 2) we hurt our ability to develop a QB in the next 3 years.
The path is simple. Trade Cassel. Sign Orton. Draft a QB in the next 3 years, hopefully sooner rather than later. At least... it SHOULD be this simple.
