You're Peyton Manning. You've just watched a Denver fanbase get a quarterback canned for Tim Tebow. Your dad said that you didn't have any interest in mentoring a young QB. On Denver talk radio YESTERDAY there were people saying that Tebow's going to be better than Peyton and that they'd be pissed if Peyton was brought in. Do you think Peyton wants to deal with that kind of drama?
You're John Elway. You've been dealing with Tebow mania for a year now. You know you can't bench him. The fans would revolt. You'd probably have to trade him, but no one's going to give you anywhere near the value you want for him. Do you really think he's going to want to deal with more drama?
You can argue about which team is better suited if you'd like. I think KC is set up better personally, but you could make an argument either way. But the off-the-field landscape out here isn't anywhere near as good of a fit as it would be in KC.
(And for the record, I don't think he's going to either Denver or KC.)
