I know, basically, where they were. It's a popular route called "The Pig Trail" that was the old highway people used to come up to Fayetteville from Little Rock prior to US71 and I540.
It was fairly late in the day, and the sun would have been low in the sky. The road is windy as hell and extremely hilly. That's why riders like it, but it's also dangerous. There's lots of trees interspersed with clearings so you move in and out between shade/shadows and full sun as you drive it. I remember this feature well from when I used to drive it all the time coming and going from Fayetteville in college. It doesn't strike me as weird or suspicious at all that he'd lay his bike over on that route.
