This is as good a place as any to tell this story -
During the first Gulf War, Kadena in Okinawa had a squadron of KC-135 refuelers stationed there, and they were sent to Kuwait. My friends that worked support for the planes were set up over there in hotels, while the army and marines would be out in the desert in tent cities. When the guys were off duty, they'd be at the hotels playing sand volleyball drinking and having a great time. According tho the stories, the marines/army helos would circle overhead, and th eAir Force guys world have to endure get shit thrown at them, spit on, and flipped off by the real military. I found that hilarious.
Bottom line, the Air Force isn't exactly well received by other branches of the military, heh.

The thing that surprised me about going to an Air Force post was their gate guards were smiling. You don’t see that on an Army post, the gate guard is most definitely not happy to see you.
