I'm always embarrassed for Herm when I see him on ESPN, but I'm not sure why, because he seems to relish his role there as some sort of clownish, step-and-fetch-it, court jester-type. It's hard to determine which he likes more--the camera, or the sound of his own voice. I think it's a tie. If he'd have spent half as much time prepping his team as he did prepping himself to appear on camera in Hard Knocks, we might have been a little better than 4-12 that year. The crazy thing is, if he's actually stupid enough to wait around for another HC opportunity, there's probably some owner/GM combo out there that's stupid enough to give him one someday.
