My dad was a Dallas Texan fan and a University of Houston grad and UH football season ticket owner. As a kid, I'd go to the Astrodome and watch the Cougars play. Elmo Wright was a UH All American WR drafted by KC. He was the FIRST (not Billy "White Shoes" Johnson) to do a touchdown dance. Once KC drafted him, I was a Chiefs fan!

I spoke to Elmo at the Alumni Center last season at the UH Homecoming game. He talked about the early days in KC, Lamar Hunt, Otis Taylor (who he still keeps in touch with), Hank Stram, and a scout who he called the "Judge." The guy has a LOT of stories. Too bad he got injured and never realized his potential in the NFL - but he had one heck of a college career!
