For the people that tip poorly, I hope you don't go back to the same restaurant and that server is working, because they talk and everyone will know you aren't worth any effort.
Servers live on tips, not wages, so if I believe you are a bad tipper I may as well forget your table and use my time keeping my other 2-3 tables even happier.

Keep in mind that your service, not your financial situation, determines your tip.
Great service should be tipped above the standard 20% because it's rare.
Horrible service deserves no tip. Horrible service should be lucky with the no-tip and thank God above I didn't have time to call the manager over and point out every fail and problem with the service...
