Also, one more important point that gets lost in the raw emotion of everything: You can't punish a dead man. He doesn't have the capacity to care anymore, and no one needs to be convinced of his self-evidently terrible actions. A heated philosophical argument about ~the true measure of a man~ isn't going to help.
