It's not so much that it's necessary that they have the 1st pick. It's their evaluation of their picks that bother me. Their picking the wrong guys. The scouting under Pioli has been absolute shit. Someone should of been shit canned years ago. Hell they would of never took a guy like Kapernick probably because he has too many tattoos.
