The trade will appear to work on the surface to average fans because we will have a better starting pitcher than last season. But when you take into account we could have gotten the same improvement in wins, if not more, simply by calling someone in Omaha, it's a kick in the nuts. Everyone will realize this in two years when Shields is in the decline and Myers is getting 40 dingers.
