I'd add the only team with a great CB to win a title was the Packers with Charles Woodson... and he missed the 2nd half of that game hurt. Pat Lee, a late 2nd round pick, stepped in.
That's not to say I wouldn't love to have someone like Revis. But you can't put the biggest focus of your defensive $$ into the CB position.
Dorsey really shouldn't give one second of thought to who this team has drafted in the past. That's just the nature of it.
