and honestly, Alex Smith doesn't have the say in anything...I realize if we trade for him we're trading for him to be our starter and we probably won't take a QB until round 2 or 3...
but it doesn't have to be that way and there is nothing Smith can do about it...he doesn't have a no trade clause, the 49ers don't have to trade him to a team he wants to play for...
he has no say in what happens
hey if they want to trade a conditional 4th for Smith and then take Smith at #1 and say "ok KC, there are your QB's" then I think that's awesome
if Geno is really as raw as the trio of GM dipshits on NFL Network say and we want to give Alex the keys for a year (and then if he lights it up and puts on a Rich Gannon Oakland performance so be it) then at least we can say...
sweet, we have Trent Green version 2 and we have a stud muffin backup QB who is learning the game from someone who was said to have really helped Kaepernick and was a pretty stand up guy through that benching last year

a conditional 4th for Smith is actually more than fair
again, don't confuse this with me saying "rah rah Alex Smith rah rah"...I still will find it 100% unacceptable if we don't spend a REALLY HIGH PICK on a QB in the draft...
but I'm not going to end of the world it until we trade for Smith, draft Joeckel, and then take a QB in the 3rd.
