The perception of this draft is flat out stupid. The media talking heads are stupid.

I agree completely. The percpetion of this draft has been HEAVILY influenced by the media and it changes with the wind.
Hyping Warmack to be the first overall pick was really pushing the envelope. Everyone knew a G, albeit a good G, would not go #1. Manti was clearly overhyped as well. He may be a solid LB but theres no hiding from his mediocre combine performance; the fact that he disappeared in the biggest game of his life; and the whole gf fiasco.
So that clearly leaves the best QB (Geno); the best CB (Millner); and the best pass rusher (?) as the potential #1 pick. If we stay at #1, then unless we take a WR it will be one of those three.
