Jason Campbell and Matt Moore are probably just as good and wouldn't have cost anything. Chase McDanielz is an RFA and people around here likely wouldn't have been too upset if Reid made a run at him. It's not so much Alex Smith people are against it's what they gave up to get him. If they had given up a 3rd round pick you'd probably see a lot more people on board.
