I can't fathom whynanyone thinks Smith is really an upgrade over Cassel.
Remember how last year everyone thought Cassel was the king of check downs and dink and dunk? Compared to Smith, Cassel is an aerial king.
In 9 games last year Cassel threw 69 passes between 11 and 20 yards.
Smith in 10 games? 39 attempts.
Cassel had 26 attempts from 20-30 yards.
Smith had 8.
Smith's "impressive" numbers were solely the result of being on the shortest leash in NFL history.
