And neither do you.
The fans of the Kansas City Chiefs aren't going to give the team another five years to have a ****ing winning record. Five out of the last SIX SEASONS, they've had a losing record and not only THAT, but TWO 2-14 seasons.
You have absolutely NO CLUE about economics or marketing or anything else related to owning sports franchise if you believe that the Chiefs, after 4-12, 2-14, 4-12, 2-14, etc. and so on, are going WIN OVER their fan base by drafting a QB in a down year.
JFC. Are you 15 years old?

The franchise had no problem with getting a good number of ticket holders through the door after a pretty dismal 2011 season until things went completely tits up by week six or so in 2012.
And yes, the Chiefs have been in a position to draft a QB in the first 50 picks in the draft but have chosen not to. Where has that got them though?
Similarly, what has drafting a 1st round QB got them? Well, the pretty bad Blackledge era but at least they tried to develop talent though the front office / coaching staff of the 80s is a pretty dark mark on a franchise.
But that's in the past. Now, on Jan. 5 of this year the Chiefs had two courses of action: they could have selected a FO that was determined to rebuild a franchise that already has a collection of key places in place on defense and offense by taking a crack at drafting a quarterback with the first overall selection or trying to be savvy in trading down a la Jeff Fisher into a position where they still get the player they want (in this case a QB and not a defensive linemen such as Brockers) while accumulating draft picks in 2013 or 2014.
Or, they could make a "win now" push with the players on the roster whilst mortgaging the future in trading prime draft picks to acquire a quarterback that is only marginally better than the starter on the roster, which is, in essence, the same move the previous two general manger and head coach combinations have done.
