We had an investment group approach our company so we could quote designing/developing a helmet system that had a pressurized tank and airbags lining the inside of the helmet...... it would sense which direction the impact was coming from and inflate the appropriate airbag accordingly.
To me, it always seemed kinda like taking the airbag out of the steering column on your car and put it on the front bumper to protect the driver inside.....wouldn't work. It would protect your SKULL, perhaps, but it wasn't going to reduce the impact of the brain hitting the inside of the skull.
