No it doesn't, really, aside from my point that one reason why Reid could not have confirmed him as the left tackle is the fact that he hadn't signed his tender and so wasn't on the team at the time of the question.

(the other reasons of course being that they may hope to trade him, or want to be careful what they say since they're in the middle of long-term contract negotiations)
