And WORST case scenario is Alex Smith doesn't work out, we get placed in a 2012 QB draft class just barely out of reach of the 3 best QBs, and take a defensive linemen because we were just "unlucky"
You brought up the Ravens. The Ravens reached on Flacco. Hard. It worked out for them. They were in a difficult position and didn't care about shit. They needed a QB. They found a guy who could possibly do the job, and they pulled the goddamn trigger.
