I heard the Chiefs briefly talked with Berry's agent earlier this off-season about an extension, but didn't hear anything after that.
The last sentence is an excellent point. The market for these guys isn't going to get crazy and the Chiefs aren't throwing their hat into a ring for either player unless they thought they had the money to sign them. They could sign them, restructure deals and then get Fisher locked up and be done.
