Agreed.. I don't care if it is the 1st inning. If the guy doesn't have it, he doesn't have it. Davis, Mendoza, Guthrie... When these guys are on they're good. When they're off or losing it, they show quick. Two or three guys reach in a row, somebody should be up throwing. Shields is obviously the exception.. He should be give some time to work through. I told my son the night he pulled shields after the 8 inning shutout, watch we're gonna blow this and go into a slide... Sure enough. We were first in the division I believe when he made that blunder.

He's got 2 starters in the bullpen too. Not a luxury that many teams I imagine even have.
