Kaepernick had no problem doubling Smith's deep passing production and did so without Mario Manningham or Kyle Williams. Kaep even found Delaney Walker on deep routes. That is because Kaep looks to go deep and Alex just doesn't.
This dates back to college for Alex. He rarely threw deep for the Utes.
