This is the by definition the very problem. He doesn't do it to where the reward factor is there, and he probably only does it when a flanker is so open that is chance of **** up is minimal, which is why his percentage is misleading. Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers both have over 3.5x the amount of deep pass attempts and they are still superior, along with other QB's with a larger amount of attempts than AS for this statistical sample...
They had about 3 times more total passes...and that was across the board. In fact, Rogers had 4x as many passes behind the LOS (check down artist!!) I'm not sure that proves anything...other than they threw more. Unless you're going to argue that Alex was only as good as he was because teams didn't expect any passes and only played against the running game?
