He only played in 3 games and was only targeted once. Of course there a a few reasons I'm sure. Sucking is probably one of them but stop with that he didn't even catch pass yet, as if he plays every week, every year...
As for Jenkins, he came out of the University of Illinois as one of the most talented receivers in the draft. At Illinois, he caught passes and returned kicks, earning first team All-Big 10 Honors in his senior year. As a 49er, Jenkins played very little in his rookie season. Appearing in only three games, Jenkins was targeted only once in 2012, a pass that he dropped. Although he is widely considered a slot-receiver, the 49ers wanted to use him as a vertical threat, like the Chiefs use Dwayne Bowe. After just one season, the 49ers decided to part ways with Jenkins, making him the only player since 2000 to be traded the year after being drafted.
