Your speculation is flat wrong.
Practically every one of Billy Butler's ratios has improved in the second half of the season (as crunch time has increased).
His K rate is down. His BB:K rate is up (His walk rate has actually decreased, so he has drastically cut his K rate). His average is up. His slugging is up.
He's seeing more pitches to hit and doing more with them.
