'Refuted' indicates something dispositive.

It's been denied by McCluster, yes. Refuted? I wouldn't go that far.

It does appear that a guy that missed a pre-season game and several practices pronounced himself well enough to go to a pool party in between.

That would be a problem to me as his employer. I don't want to see someone call in sick to work, only to have pictures of their weekend retreat pop up on facebook...before calling in sick again on Monday and Tuesday.
