I don't think anybody had a shot in hell at succeeding last year under the abortion of an offensive coaching staff we had. I thought McCluster started to show flashes of his potential with Orton at QB. Enough flashes for me to see what he can do under a new coaching staff and an offense that can actually spread the defense out a little bit. I want to see him develop as a receiver instead of what I thought was a completely dumb decision by Haley two years ago to take him out of the slot and into a RB position.
Again, I'm tired of the gimmicks and don't believe he's shown anything to warrant any free passes. He has to earn his job, but I'd like to see him just get a few shots in the right position, with a good offensive coach, behind a semi-competent QB before closing the book.
