Ugh...
That draft was just absolutely loaded and we had 2 2nd and a high 3rd...we ended up with McCluster, Arenas and Asomoah.
We got schooled by the damn Raiders, who took Veldheer right after we took Asomoah.
Daryl Washington has always been the one that got away for me. Imagine him lining up alongside DJ. Spikes was another guy that would've been great there.
Even after 2009, Pioli could've saved his legacy here and perhaps even his job had he not also botched 2010. Then along game McCluster, Arenas and Moeaki over Washington, Cody and Graham.
All he has to do is go chalk there and he ends up with an incredible draft; right on par with Herm's 2008 draft. Instead the Chiefs will come away with Berry and scrap.
The 2008 draft wasn't enough to save Herm's job, but it will remain his legacy in my eyes. Pioli could've had the same thing with 2010, but instead he Pioli'd it up (because he's smarter than you) and we're stuck with nothing but candy wrappers and scorn.
