Brady was actually quite good at Michigan. He just had the misfortune of playing for Lloyd Carr. Brian Griese was the incumbent his first two years, and then he had to fight like hell to keep Drew Henson off the field (they badly wanted Henson to start). And at the end of the day they just didn't pass the ball all that much so his numbers weren't as eye-popping as other guys. But he was in no way bad. He posted 60+% completion numbers his two seasons starting, had a 20/6 TD/INT ratio as a senior and ended his career with a phenomenal performance against bama in the Orange bowl (350+ yards, 4 TD). They ended top 20 both years he started, with bowl wins. At the end of the day, the guy was just a winner.
