That's got to be hard on the ego.
I'm going to say something completely terrible and inappropriate, but I have to say it.
I've read articles a few times over the years where there was some gang rape kind of deal on a group of women, and they'll say something like "two women were locked in a closet while the other two were raped", or "the three women were tied up, and one was raped". If you're one of the women who's not raped, you're undoubtedly quite happy about that, but at the same time that's got to be an ego blow. They lock you in a closet while they rape your friend? That's really quite the insult.
