What success? The one playoff win?
One is Matt Cassel in 2010 and the other is Alex Smith in 2011...

273 445 61.3 3,144 7.07 17 56 5 5 47.3 90.7
And one is Cassel's career stats and the other is Smith...

80 1,290 2,177 59.3 14,280 6.56 81 75 63 36 -- 79.1
I don't hate Smith, but I hated the thought of another retread QB, and I'm certainly not going to get excited over a few good games last year with a SB caliber team (see Cassel) or an efficient game versus a terrible Jaguars team.
