It's been 30 years since the Chiefs have tried this. The Russell burn is worse than the Blackledge burn, as Russell was the top pick.
Sad to say it, but I kind of have to give some props to Oakland for persevering and sticking with the, 'Developing a young QB that could last a decade or longer' strategy.

Yeah, they drafted one in the fourth round, then cut his ass. Could you imagine how that would've been perceived on this site?
Oakland is starting a player they picked up in the supplemental draft, last year. He's not a rookie.
