It's not just about this most recent draft. There have been many QB's over the past 30 years that the Chiefs could have gone after, but chose the band-aid route. Alex Smith is our newest band-aid QB, and he will ensure us that the Chiefs do not select a QB in the high rounds of the draft during his tenure. And then, after he is gone, we will bring in the next band-aid QB and the cycle repeats. Just like with Cassel, just like with Green, just like with Grbac, and so on. It is a vicious ****ing cycle we are in.

The key point in this argument is that no championships have been yielded operating this way. Championships trump any other statistic. Look at the past 20 plus years of Superbowl winners, and the majority of teams that won drafted and developed their starting QB's in the game.
