Alex Smith had 5 different coordinators in 5 years, played on terrible teams, and he had a shoulder injury that wasn't corrected until ~3 years ago.

If we are going to give Alex Smith credit for having been put in a position to succeed and finally realizing his potential the last two seasons as I am inclined to do, then we have to acknowledge that Geno Smith is behind the 8 ball when you consider having been drafted by the Jets and having been significantly overrated going into the draft. He's clearly not ready to start in the league, and too much is being asked of him.

But the entire premise of this thread is "They'll both be starting this year, let's see who's the better QB."

So far, we're seeing it.
