He is who I thought he was... like Thig said, it's nice to have a QB who doesn't curl up into the fetal position at the first sign of a pass rush, and at the end of the day he's 2-0.... but, big picture, beating a terrible team last week and a mediocre team by 1 point this week doesn't mean he can ever lead the team deep into the playoffs.
FFS, Matt Cassel has made it to the playoffs before and Tim Tebow even won a game... that should tell people how mediocre the league has been for a while. It's not like Alex Smith is incapable of doing the same, but after 20 years of watching retread QBs perform well from time to time, I think I'll enjoy the win for what it is and not get too excited when it comes to the big picture.
