As for the original question, it's tough to know what you're talking about specifically without a screenshot or something, but yes, a lot of the images have changed slightly in the past couple weeks.

Don't blame you for wanting to keep the initial look the same. But I gotta say, when I get to work to login, that blinding white page is really bright. 
Kind of like that blinding green face.
