I've been playing poker for the majority of my income for 6 years. If I didn't have a significant other in that time - I would have made at least 3x more. I'd have more time to study, learn strategies, and better myself to achieve my goals. I'd be able to play more & not have to watch TV and go to overpriced dinners as much. I'd eat healthier. I'd have more time to work out etc.
But that is the price I pay for not wanting to be lonely. In relationships, people typically GIVE UP careers & dreams instead of achieving them. In
MOST cases marriage is a hindrance to achieving your professional goals and dreams. But FAMILY & PERSONAL well being trump money & employment goals - which is how it should be.
