I'm no fan of pissing away draft picks for FAs. I never have been. That said, the way that Veach is going about it is the correct way. You get high talent guys who were coming up on their first extensions. you bypass the learning curve, get a top-notch player, and honor your Superbowl window while you're there QB is on his rookie contract.
once Mahomes has been signed to his deal, that changes everything. at that point, I'll have to take another assessment as will everyone else. but for now, it's the right way to do things. And even I have to admit that given what we had pick wise going into the draft, Veach did a killer job.
that move we made to get hardeman was not something that an idiot can accomplish. That move was something that Dorsey would do. That was good trading.
