They may go into max protections all game to give him better blocking/more time etc, but I don't think that's going to slow anything down/restrict anything in terms of what they do, per say. If they get up 3 scores or something and it's in the 4th qtr, then sure Reid may take the foot off the pedal.
But its early in the season, important for Chiefs to jump out ahead early. Players will need to tough it out and play. And it's only Wed...Mahomes has 3.5 more days to heal. He'll be fine. I don't think its necessary to worry whether or not Mahomes will last all season or not. Dude's a player, he's bulked up and is in great shape, he'll be fine. JAX has a lot of good talent on that side of the ball and they're a tough physical squad...other than Ravens and Pats, they're gonna be one of the most physical teams Chiefs see all yr.
