Laugh if you want, but SD is a large TV market, it opens up recruiting to Socal a little more for Big 12 teams, and it would provide an easy 10 pm Eastern time slot for football games in the conference to challenge the PAC12 for Football TV ratings on Saturdays.
Would it be wise to spread the conference out so far? I was all for the Big 12 adding BYU, but all of the news now seem to indicate that the conference is now looking east.
