They vastly,
vastly overachieved that year. Look at their coach and their roster. Bill F-ing Callahan. Rich Gannon was 37. Tim Brown was 36. Jerry Rice was 41. Rod Woodson and Trace Armstrong? 37. Bill Romanowski? 36. Charlie Garner was at that precipice for all RBs, 30. Charles Woodson was still young, but injuries kept him off the field for much of the season.
The Raiders were freakin' ancient, and they had an awful coach. It was a miracle of miracles that they made the Super Bowl.
