He's been injured a few times during his initial contract. Should be able to leverage a lower number if he wants to stay on what looks to be a Superbowl team.
I mean, we come back from 24-0 in the divisional without him, and if we defeat a physical smashmouth titans team without him to go to the big one....i mean it will be proven at that point that hes a luxury and not a must have.

A) Aim higher. He's likely looking at $20+ million when all is said and done.
B) Yes, we won without him, but his absence was noticeable. For as badly as we abused Houston's tackles, Watson was often able to find space to move forward because the interior wasn't getting pressure.
From a 1,000 mile view - the Chiefs didn't need him last week. But from a micro level, his absence was CLEARLY noticeable.
