If the Royals thought they were legit buyers going into the deadline, wouldn't you buy on the guy you drafted and developed while you are still in the race. This is a throw away year for the Royals and they know it. 2012 was a marketing year due to the All Star game, 2013 is their goal. That's why you roll with guys who's elbows you know are going to blow and don't backfill the position with legit starters.
