Knock on wood I stopped getting stones when I was in my 20's. But they always knew when I went to the er. I was like ****ing Norm on Cheers at my er for a bit. The only thing I can tell you is I had back issues and stones and the way to tell them apart for me was the stones were like waves of pain as opposed to a steady pain.
