The breakdowns in last year's meeting were the same kind of breakdowns we always see from New England early in the season. They clean that stuff up by October, and now they've had 10 days to prepare. Against most of what the Chiefs do - the way they stretch the field horizontally with misdirection and jet motion, which sets up their vertical plays - you need perfect communication, eye discipline, and being able to stay on your keys. the Pats are usually very good at this stuff.
Most importantly, they will limit KC's possessions by running the ball a ton against that horrendous run defense.

You obviously didn't watch the Denver game. The Denver defense didn't slow or stop Mahomes, or make his reads difficult. Dropped passes (6 in the game 5 in the first half) are the only thing that stopped him.
So you go to bed Saturday night and pray for 6 dropped passes alright.
