If I were in Mizzou's shoes, I'd have done the same thing without hesitation. Going forward however, there's only so long the mouth-breathers like Saul can hide behind the "SEC!" chants. And give Alabama standing ovations. Success on the field will eventually start to matter to the majority of the fanbase. At least beyond comparing themselves to what KU football did.
It is interesting that in basketball, MU fans do actually talk about their team instead of the League. Because their team is good and their league sucks.
