It's not a guarantee. See Cleveland hiring Kitchens. Kitchens threw out the playback from Haley and used his own based on Arians. Disaster.

This. Sure it's possible that Dorsey has success, but it's not guaranteed. Offenses change year to year even with the same coordinator in place. Buffalo's offense would likely look different in 2021 even with Daboll still in place to adjust to what defenses may try to do to counter their success, as you mentioned. If Daboll leaves there is no guarantee that Dorsey has anywhere close to the same level of success designing the plays and calling them on Sundays.
