I disagree with my EMB brethren. I don't think Reid is capable of turning a franchise around anymore unless he undergoes a major metamorphosis in his philosophy. What the national media won't tell you is that Reid inherited a lot of talent from Ray Rhodes and Tom Modrak, and benefited from those players as well as from Jim Johnson and McNabb in his prime. He was never able to replace these figures. As his power over the team increased and the turnover began, the team regressed. What followed was a series of dumbfounding and mystifying decisions, including (but not limited to) letting Dawkins go to the Broncos with no replacement, continually drafting small, undersized defenders, ignoring the linebacker position altogether, signing Vick, making his offensive line coach the defensive coordinator, bringing in Howard Mudd and Jim Washburn, and many more. All of these moves were a result of an increasing desperation and desire to replace the coaches and players he lost.

This is on top of the myriad of gameday issues he has which have held the Eagles back in countless games, including in every playoff loss they've had and the Super Bowl in '05. His clock management and play-calling are woeful.

My only hope for the Chiefs is that with a new franchise, he feels pressure to significantly change his ways and right what he did wrong in Philly. Of course, none of that does us any good, but we're just happy he's not here anymore. I've always hoped well for the Chiefs because they seem to have such a big, passionate fan base.
Agreed, Jim Johnson was more responsible for us making it to the Superbowl then Reid was.
