Very true, the production, direction, universe.. pretty much everything that didn't have to do with their writing prowess directly is why Game of Thrones blew up pop culture, they were just smart enough to be the ones to kick the ball.
That said, I'm more hopeful about their trilogy than the one from guy who did ****ing
